Queendom

You’ve a queendom by the reigns
Slaying beasts as need be slain
But even queens must slake their thirst
Dragon slaying’s thirsty work

Place your armour on the floor
You won’t need it where we’re for
This day’s assaults tonight ignore
This night, succumb, delight, adore

We’ll be safely in our hollow
Where the wild things cannot follow
There is nought you need do
Surrender to my care for you

I bid you cast off all reserve
I’ll give all that you deserve
Send a flare, I’ll storm the gates
And take control of what awaits

To us be bound and so set free
Bare your altar unto me
I claim its worship for my own
This night I shall rule your throne

Light my touch and let it go
Before behind between below
Heated breaths on embers’ glow
Ignite torrential inferno

Then at last we two are one
When the whole is more than sum
All that was just falls away
All except the song of waves

Earth doth move, doves doth cry
Loved and lover doth lock eyes
Hurtled forward t’ward demise
And die the death that doth revive

And so the ruler robes in tatters
Made slave to love and all such matters
Finds release in being lost
A secret flame to ward the frost

For a time crown cast aside
For a feeling felt astride
A moment she can call her own
When she again ascends her throne
